Rental Cars has its office in Tórshavn but does offer pick-up and drop-off services at a variety of location at an additional cost. The cost for pick-up or drop-off at Vágar Airport is 189 DKK.

7. Reyni Service – Toyota Car Rental

No car rental company in the Faroe Islands has more pickup and drop-off locations than Unicar. Their five locations are: Vágar Airport, Hotel Vágar, Miðvágur, Sørvágur Harbour and Tórshavn Harbour. It is possible to pick up at one location and drop the car off at another.

Transport in the Faroe Islands

The Faroe Islands consist of 18 major islands and a total of 779 islands, islets and skerries. 17 of the islands are populated so car, ferry and even helicopter are frequently used for transportation in the archipelago.

All commercial airlines fly into Vágar Airport named after the island of the same name. From Vágar, the network of roads and bridges allows you to reach Streymoy (where Tórshavn is located), Eustyroy, Borðoy, Kunoy and Viðoy by car.

In Tórshavn, you can book buses to all the accessible islands as well as ferries and helicopter travel to the Faroese islands not accessible by land. If you want to go to Mykines, famous for its beauty and many puffins, it is recommended to book your ferry in advance.
